President and Chief Executive Officer
Stephen W. Golsby has served as president
of Mead Johnson Nutrition since 2004 and was appointed chief executive
officer in 2008, prior to leading the company through a successful
IPO separation from Bristol-Myers Squibb in February 2009.
Prior to becoming president of Mead Johnson, Mr. Golsby was president
of Mead Johnson International from 2000 to 2004. He joined the organization
in 1997 and served as senior vice president and general manager
for Mead Johnson and Clairol in Asia-Pacific from 1998 to 2000.
Over the past 20 years, Mr. Golsby has spent a significant amount
of time living and working in Asia, providing him with deep insight
into doing business there, as well as the long-term opportunities
in the region. Under his leadership, China became the company's
second largest and fastest-growing business worldwide, and he was
responsible for the extension of the "Enfa" brand into
the children's nutrition category and the launch of the first infant
formula featuring DHA and ARA in Asia.
Mr. Golsby came to Mead Johnson from Unilever, where he served as
chairman of the detergent, home-care and personal-care businesses
in Greece. Before that, he led those same divisions in Thailand,
as well as laundry category strategy development for the Asia region.
His 15-year Unilever career also included a number of senior
marketing positions in the U.K. and Switzerland, working with such
iconic brands as Omo, Persil, Lux and Dove.
Mr. Golsby currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International
Association of Infant Food Manufacturers (IFM), the leading
global industry group for infant and pediatric nutrition companies,
which is dedicated to improving the nutritional health of infants
and young children worldwide.
Born and raised in London, England, Mr. Golsby holds a business
degree from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland. Age 55.
